VETRONIT EP 105 AS is the antistatic version of Vetronit EP 105. The surface of the material has an antistatic resin coating.
Bakelite is a laminated semi-finished product pressed from reinforced resin and is a thermosetting plastic, which means that it does not melt but carbonises as the temperature rises. Their strength, load-bearing capacity, dimensional stability and insulating properties make them popular today. Textile (or textite) Bakelite is available in a wide range of sizes in sheet, rod and tube formats, while paper Bakelite is available in sheet form (the latter is also known as carton or pertinax). This also includes CEM-1 and Vetronit sheets, the latter also available in ESD (antistatic, AS).

Some important features
They can be used to make bearings, gears and presses, heavy planers, sliding inserts for frame saws and other heavy-duty machine components, as well as for the manufacture of material handling surfaces, machine bases and equipment bodies. They are generally well suited for applications where the dimensional stability and compressive strength of general engineering thermoplastics are no longer satisfactory.
Chipping (turning, milling, drilling, sawing): among the traditional metalworking tools, carbide and diamond tools can be used, with sharp finish only. When machining, personal protective equipment is recommended and inhalation of dust should be avoided for health reasons.
Gluing: feasible.
