TORLON PAI 4275 is a PAI composite containing 20% graphite and 3% PTFE with improved sliding and abrasion resistance properties for high speed sliding.
PAI (polyamide imide, polyamide imide or polyamide imide) is a high-performance plastic (HPM) with special mechanical properties. The Torlon brand name was introduced to the market by Solvay, Belgium. Its exceptional abrasion resistance, extremely low thermal expansion, exceptional dimensional stability even at high temperatures (up to 270°C) make it capable of withstanding extreme conditions. Its tensile strength is better than that of e.g. stainless steel or aluminium alloys. It has excellent chemical resistance, sliding properties, electrical insulation and high rigidity. Available in bar and plate formats.

Some important features
Chipping (turning, milling, drilling, sawing): carbide and diamond tools should be used. Cooling is recommended, with cutting speeds as follows: e.g. v = 250-500 m/min for turning and milling, v = 10-30 m/min for drilling.
Gluing: feasible.
