product family features

Polyurethanes are extremely flexible, elastic plastics, which are close to elastomers (rubber, silicone products) in their flexibility. In addition, they are highly resistant to abrasion and chemicals. A wide range of hardnesses, colours and densities are available. The Shore A scale is commonly used to determine hardness, with Sh A between 60 and 95 typically available. They are also available in rod, tube and plate formats.PUR EBABOARD PW920

Some important features

  • Elongation at break: 250-700%
  • Application temperature: up to approx. 80°C
  • Excellent wear resistance, e.g. when abraded by small particles

Main areas of application

Silents, leaf springs, buffers, rollers, contact surfaces/coatings. The harder PUR semi-finished products (such as Ebaboard) are sought-after materials for models, patterns and moulds due to their excellent machinability, dimensional stability and aesthetic appearance.

Machining technology

Chipping (turning, milling, drilling, sawing): traditional metalworking tools, in some cases woodworking tools - carbon steel, high speed steel, carbide, diamond - can be used with a sharp finish, but especially for softer polyurethanes it is recommended to cool the workpiece before machining.

Gluing: feasible.

Available formats

  • PUR rod
  • PUR sheet
  • PUR pipe
