Product features

DOCASON PES is an unreinforced, unfilled amorphous polyether sulfone (PES).

Honey

product family features

The use of PPSU is recommended when chemical and chemical stresses are also a determining factor in addition to mechanical stress. High purity, good chemical and hydrolysis resistance. It has excellent thermal ageing resistance. Durable up to 180°C. Available in rod and sheet formats.

  • High toughness - does not break
  • High hardness (Rockwell: M 75 - M 114)
  • Wide application temperature range: -50°C to +210°C
  • Very good chemical resistance
  • Physiologically neutral, may come into contact with food and medicines
  • Dimensional stability, good damping capacity
  • Favourable creep resistance (10-30 MPa for 1% tension at 1000 h at 23°C)
  • Good electrical insulating and dielectric properties
  • Good resistance to high-energy radiation

Main areas of application

Machine components and sub-assemblies, mainly in the food industry, medicine, which have to be cleaned and sterilised frequently (e.g. milking machines, heat exchangers, filters, pumps, etc.).

Machining technology

Chipping (turning, milling, drilling, sawing): conventional tools can be used, but only with a sharp finish. Cooling is recommended, with cutting speeds of v = 200-400 m/min for turning and milling, v = 50-100 m/min for drilling.

Gluing: is feasible (but more difficult than PVDF with similar properties).
