DOCASET WACOSIT | polyester resin + long glass fibre
Glass-fibre reinforced resin laminates are thermosetting plastics, i.e. they do not melt but char/heat up with increasing temperature. The most widely used types are G10 (G-10), G11 (G-11) and FR4 (FR-4). They are also often referred to by different code names according to different standards and are sometimes referred to as sclotextite and hollow. Excellent insulating properties, high strength, hardness and stiffness characterise these materials. FR4 is a flame retardant composite, while G11 can be used up to 155°C, but we can also offer higher temperature resistant grades on request. The materials are also available in sheet and rod formats.

Some important features
They can be used to make bearings, gears and presses, heavy planers, sliding inserts for frame saws and other heavy-duty machine components, as well as for the manufacture of material handling surfaces, machine bases and equipment bodies. They are generally well suited for applications where the dimensional stability and compressive strength of general engineering thermoplastics are no longer satisfactory.
Chipping (turning, milling, drilling, sawing): among the traditional metalworking tools, carbide and diamond tools can be used, with sharp finish only. When machining, personal protective equipment is recommended and inhalation of dust should be avoided for health reasons.
Gluing: feasible.
