DOCAPEEK MOD
The DOCAPEEK MOD is a true plain bearing grade. It contains carbon fibre, PTFE and graphite fillers.
Thanks to its outstanding mechanical properties, chemical resistance and, above all, exceptional heat resistance, PEEK has become indispensable. Its full name is polyether ether ketone or polyether ether ketone, a member of the PAEK family of materials. It was introduced to the market in the 1980s and 1990s by the British company Victrex.
It is characterised by excellent wear resistance, slip properties, dimensional stability and machinability, which put it above the general engineering plastics, even if we do not mention the fact that it can be used up to about 300 degrees Celsius. In the combination of all these properties, it has no rival.
Available in a wide range of finishes - you can find the right material from the PEEK range for the most specific applications. We offer glass fibre (GF or GF30), carbon fibre (CF, CF30 or CA), carbon fibre, graphite and Teflon reinforced (MOD or PVX), anti-static (ESD) and electrically conductive (ELS), detectable PEEK for food applications, and also medical and pharmaceutical PEEK in a range of colours.
They are also available in sheet, rod and tube formats in a wide range of sizes, for example, natural PEEK sheets from 1.25 mm to 130 mm thick, and rods from 4 mm to 200 mm diameter.

Some important features
PEEK is preferably used in areas where there are extreme stresses:
It can be used in a wide range of applications, such as conventional machinery, aeronautics, nuclear, chemical and electrical industries, transport and other advanced engineering fields.
It is used to make gears, pump elements, seals, valves, sliding elements, distributors, appliance elements in the mechanical, medical device, aerospace, nuclear, chemical, electrical and automotive industries.
Chipping (turning, milling, drilling, sawing): carbide and diamond tools should be used. Cooling is recommended with cutting speeds of v = 250-500 m/min for turning and milling, v = 10-30 m/min for drilling.
Gluing: feasible.
