French biotech company Carbios and the UK recycling and waste management company FCC have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to set up a plant in the UK using Carbios' licensed technology for the biological recycling of PET. The enzyme-based depolymerisation process will facilitate the recycling of all types of PET waste, including polyester-based textiles, which are considered to be problematic.
