For many injection moulders, a quick changeover to another product is a difficult task. Quick changeovers are absolutely necessary to meet customer demands and achieve adequate profits. What are the reasons why many injection moulding companies are afraid to stop production, change moulds and start with a new product - quickly? In this article we describe the changeover process, which in broad terms is three, distinct steps: planning, tool change and start-up.
