The use of robots in injection moulding plants is on the increase. In Part 1 of this publication, robot manufacturers highlight current innovations and point to several ways in which processing plants can further exploit the advantages of multi-axis or linear (catechized) robots. In Part 2 of the next issue, they will report on further developments in robots that could enable the high level of automation of injection moulding to enable plastics processing according to the principles of Industry 4.0, including the use of robots that work with humans, so-called cobots.
