Plastics and flammability in the first half of 2010
Plastics can only be used in many areas if their flammability meets standard requirements. In most cases this can only be achieved by mixing in suitable additives. As the use of the best performing brominated flame retardants is gradually being phased out for health and environmental reasons, more and more halogen-free flame retardants and halogen-free reduced flammability plastics are appearing on the market.
