Fibre-reinforced plastics are genuine engineering materials that are equivalent substitutes for metals in many areas. They have been in use for about 50 years, and in that time both the raw materials and the processing technologies have evolved considerably. Their use is indispensable in aeronautics, aerospace and automotive industries, but it would be difficult to do without them in other industries.
