Developed countries can only remain competitive if they enter the market with brand new technologies and products. This is also true for plastics processing. The greatest progress in this area is in injection moulding. Multi-component injection moulding is still a living practice, but its potential is not yet fully exploited. New attempts are being made to combine this technology with other plastic processing or even metal processing techniques.
