Plastics are increasingly used in cars, and plastics manufacturers and processors are developing new technologies to exploit market opportunities. BASF has undertaken significant development work in the production of moulded decorative karos series components. A pre-printed or painted foil is laid in the mould and the plastic is injection moulded or extruded onto the back of the foil.
