Prediction of polymer lifetime in flexible oil pipelines
Polyamides and poly(vinylidene fluoride) in flexible pipelines. PA 11, a special engineering plastic, and poly(vinylidene fluoride) (PVDF) are used for lining flexible pipelines in offshore oil production. Safety is a very important consideration in these applications, and it is therefore important to be aware of the lifetime of the materials and the changes in properties that occur with ageing.
