high strength properties: 70–110 MPa (yieldstress, tensile strength, compressive strength),
toughness (notched Charpy): 12 kJ/m2 – does not break,
good sliding properties : m = 0,15–0,5 (dry sliding on smoothed and ground steel),
wide temperature range for application: from –40°C to +140°C,
high hardness (Rockwell): M 85 – M 98,
good fatigue strength and damping capability,
good wear resistance,
favorable creep resistance: 18 – 26 MPa, tension for 1% extension in 1000 h,

Cutting (turning, milling, drilling, reaming, sawing): only traditional metalworking – or in certain cases, woodworking tools – carbon steel, rapid steel, hard metal, diamond can be used only in sharp design. Cooling is recommended, which allows high cutting rates, e. g. v = 100-500 m/min for turning and milling, v = 50 –100 m/min for drilling.
Adhesive bonding and welding: feasible.
DOCAMID (PA – polyamide) Products
DOCAGLIDE
Similarly to DOCAMID 6G H, this modified structure (polymer/polymer composite) PA 6 product has favorable toughness, fatigue strength, flexibility properties among the more rigid cast products. It has the favorable properties of both pure, extruded and cast polyamides. Its typical field of application is rollers and various teethed machine parts.
DOCAMID 12
Natural colored, unfilled polyamide 12. In comparison with the polyamide 6 materials, it has a smaller degree of water absorption, the material is extremely tough, resistant to cyclic fatigue stress and it has good abrasion wear resistance.
DOCAMID 12 GF30
By adding glass fibers, the dimensional stability, hardness and strength of PA12 was improved in comparison with the “natural” version.
DOCAMID 4.6
In comparison with the general polyamide 6 materials, the DOCAMID 4.6 material has a greater degree of rigidity and creep resistance in a wide temperature range. It can be readily used in a higher temperature range (80 - 150ºC), where the PA 6, PA 66, POM and PETP materials are not suitable in terms of dimensional stability, resistance wear, heat ageing and fatigue.
DOCAMID 6 E
It offers a favorable combination of strength, toughness, mechanical damping ability and wear resistance. All this is accompanied by good electric insulating and chemically resistant properties. Based on all of the above, the product can be regarded as a polyamide type “for general use”.
DOCAMID 6 G-H ELS
Composite version of magnesium catalitic cast PA 6, which is ranked to the conductive material family. Surface resistance is 106 - 107 Ω.
DOCAMID 6 G-H Esd
Nano- and microcomposite version of magnesium catalitic cast PA 6, which is ranked to the Esd (electrostatic dissipative) material family. Surface resistance is 109-1010 Ω. It has better abrasive wear resistance than natural cast PA 6.
DOCAMID 6 G-H HPV
Nano-composite cast polyamide 6 with improved sliding properties and wear resistance.
DOCAMID 6 GF30
In comparison with the pure PA 6, it has 30% glass fiber filling, as reinforcing material. Due to this, it has a greater degree of rigidity, dimensional stability and creep resistance. The maximum allowed operating temperature is higher, as well.
DOCAMID 6 MO
In comparison with the DOCAMID 6 E material, it has a higher degree of strength and rigidity due to the molybdenum disulphide (MoS2) content. Its heat and wear resistance is better, but its toughness and mechanical damping ability is worse. It can be readily machined with automatic cutting machines.
DOCAMID 66 CF20
Carbon-fibre reinforced, high mechanical strength polyamide 66. It has improved heat resistance and dimension stability, reduced surface and volume resisivity. It is classified as electrically conductive material.
DOCAMID 66 E
In comparison with the DOCAMID 6 E material, it has a higher degree of strength and rigidity. It has a better heat and adhesive wear resistance.
DOCAMID 66 GF30
In comparison with the pure PA 6, it has 30% glass fiber filling, as reinforcing material. Due to this, it has a greater degree of rigidity, dimen¬sio¬nal stability and creep resistance. The maximum allowed operating temperature is higher, as well.
DOCAMID 66 MO
Due to the MoS2 additive, it is more rigid, harder and has a greater degree of dimensional stability than the pure PA 66 material, but it is more brittle, as well. Another effect of MoS2 is the improved sliding and wear resistance character, which makes it possible to be used as self-lubricating sliding bearing in many applications.
DOCAMID 6G
Unreinforced, unfilled basic type among the sodium-catalyzed, cast PA 6 products. Its mechanical characteristics are very similar to the extruded DOCAMID 66 E material. It offers a favorable combination of strength, hardness, dimensional stability and wear resistance.
DOCAMID 6G-H
Due to the specially catalyzed manufacturing process, its improved toughness (without additives) and constant material structure stands out from the cast polyamide products. In comparison with extruded, pure PA 6 materials, it has greater strength, dimensional stability and wear resistance. It has both the favorable properties of extruded and cast polyamides. It is a universally usable structural material (bearings, gear wheels, rollers....) which is economically more favorable in comparison with other polyamide products.
DOCAMID 6GMO
Apart from the molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) particles, the addition of soot improves the UV resistance of the product. In comparison with the “natural” version, the material is harder and its modulus of elasticity is greater.
DOCAMID 6GOL
Cast PA 6 containing lubricating oil, as an additive. Excellent self-lubricating material, it has been primarily developed for structural positions at small sliding speeds subjected to high loads. In comparison with unfilled versions, friction coefficients may even be reduced by 50%, whereas wear resistance may increase tenfold.
DOCARIM
Cast PA 6 composite having elastomere. Very high level of toughness. Good low temperature impact strength. No brittle fracture. Good shock absorption. Electrically insulating.
DOCAVACU GF
Thermo- and vacuum formable PA 6 E reinforced with glass fibre.
