(hard PVC)
Category A
Main characteristics:

tensile stress at yield: min.45 – 70 MPa,
machinable,
chemically resistant, weather resistant,
temperature range of use: from –20ºC to +60 and 70ºC,
hardness: 95–130 MPa (ball indentation H358/30),
density: 1,35–1,6 kg/dm3,
a physiologically neutral version exists, as well (food contact),
good electric insulating capability even in wet medium.

Basic grade:
Hard PVC in standard quality is a widely used half-product in industry, such as unreinforced, extrded DOCADUR rods, plates, tubes.
Special grade:
To satisfy special requirements, versions with increased impact strength and UV resistance (DOCADUR ESA-D), as well as transparent, light-admitting versions are available on request, as well.
Main areas of use:
Industrial ventilation systems, air and material supply channels, water and chemical agent reservoirs, piping systems, filters, electrically insulating parts, plating baths, agitator blades, etching equipment, elements and parts used in photo industry and technology, constructional elements, etc.
Machining technology:

Cutting (turning, milling, drilling, sawing): only traditional metalworking – or in certain cases, woodworking tools – carbon steel, rapid steel, hard metal, diamond can be used only in sharp design. Cooling is recommended, which allows high cutting rates, e. g. v = 200 –400 m/min for turning and milling, v = 50 –100 m/min for drilling.
Adhesive bonding, welding, forming: Feasible.

PVC is a flame retardant material with an exceptional chemical resistance and also with lower stress cracking. PVC-U shows high mechanical strength, tensile strength and the continuous operating temperature is from -15 °C to +60 °C. It can also be easily machined, glued and welded.
