Main characteristics: 

Resin-based versions: high mechanical strength, excellent electrical insulation, very good thermal insulation.
Products made from mica: unique mechanical properties, excellent heat resistance, not flammable, high dielectric strength, excellent compressive strength and modulus, low water absorption, resistance against many chemicals and mineral oils.
Tribological materials (improved sliding and wear properties): self-lubricated materials with solid lubricants, resistance against mineral oils and fats, low water absorption, excellent chemical resistance, low friction and improved wear resistance.

Main areas of use: 
Where high temperature resistance needed beside the good mechanical and/or tribological properties, furtheremore the normal thermoplastics can not be used.
Machining technology: 

Cutting (turning, milling, drilling, sawing): In many cases due to layer structured anisotroph plates the machining is difficult. Application of jigs is necessary to minimize the cutting stress. Hard metal, diamond tools can be used only in sharp design.

Color: white

Where there is no special mechanical need beside the heat resistance. It can be used up to 1000ºC.

Color: grey

Where there is a special attention to low heat conductivity beside the excellent heat resistance. It can be used up to 1100ºC.

Molded plates
Color: yellow

It is typically offered for machined parts made from semi-finished products. Even distribution of glass fibre reinforcement can offer isotropic behaviour. It has excellent heat and electrical insulation capability. Max. service temperature is up to 220ºC.

It has similar properties and application field like, but max. service temperature is up to 220ºC.

Muscovite mica with excellent electrical insulating properties and thermal resistance up to 600ºC.

Phlogopite mica with excellent electrical insulating properties and thermal resistance up to 800ºC.

Beside the excellent, low friction it has good electrical insulating properties, too. It can be used up to 160 – 180ºC.

Among Docatherm-glide tribo-materials this version has average good heat resistance. Heat resistance is up to 220 – 260ºC.

Similarly to Docatherm-glide GA 450 it has high mineral-based solid lubricant content and can perform very low friction. Heat resistance is up to 600ºC.
